Now that the Tyvek® is in place, it’s time for the outer layer of cladding (the material used for the outside facing of a building) — the siding. In this case, the siding is wood. Wood siding is manufactured in a variety of types such as shake, clapboard, singles or lap. Our panels are applied horizontally, over the moisture barrier (Tyvek®), and the finish will be paint and possibly a sealant. The crew started at the back of the house, and over the past few days have just about finished installing the siding all around the house. The areas where you still see exposed Tyvek® are the spaces that will have rock facing.
