On May 5, 2012, Our skies were brightened by what scientists call a “perigee moon.” This is when a full moon is closest to the Earth and appears larger than at any other times. NASA’s articles on moon phenomena are quite interesting.
On Maple View Drive, Saturday evening of May 5th, we were blessed with perfectly clear skies and had a marvelous showing of the rising moon in the western sky. Of course, I had to snap some pics for posting, so, please enjoy.
Oh yeah, just for grins, I threw in a photo of a daytime moon sighting from a few days later.
